MethaneSET is a non-commercial research project. This page explains who runs the site, which third-party services it uses and how it handles data.

Site owner

Hosting

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., United States). Like any web server, GitHub logs technical information, including IP addresses, to operate the service and keep it secure. See GitHub's privacy statement.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, ads or tracking of any kind. The only information stored on your device is your light or dark theme preference, and only when you switch the theme.

Third-party services

• Map tiles: the CARTO and Esri basemaps (with OpenStreetMap data) load automatically on the pages that show a map, so your IP address reaches those providers.
• Hugging Face: sample previews and dataset downloads connect to huggingface.co only when you request them.

• Datasets: CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0, synthetic plume bank CC-BY 4.0.
• Website code: MIT.
• Basemaps: CARTO, Esri and OpenStreetMap, credited in the footer.

Personal data

No personal data is collected: there are no accounts, forms or comment systems. If you contact us through the links above, your message is handled only to answer you.
